Description
- The Admissions Officer is responsible for managing a responsive and efficient admissions service for the recruitment of mission-appropriate students for the school. The Officer will ensure that the admissions service is in line with the school's WAB Admissions Policy and Procedures, Integrated Marketing and Communications Strategy and School Strategic Plan. The Officer will also serve as a liaison between the admissions office and the school's strategic aspects of promoting the school, while providing guidance and support to the Head of Admissions and Enrollment Management.
- Objectives:
1. Serve as main point of contact for prospective families following through the initial inquiry to the enrollment of new students, which includes but not limited to answering inquiries, conducting campus visits and meetings, providing information and advice on admissions criteria and WAB programs
2. Identify and liaise with targeted organizations in the community, to build and maintain positive relationships to support student recruitment, retention and identify new opportunities and market trends.
3. Record accurate and timely information on all admissions related student databases.
4. Support new student/family orientation and transition at WAB.
5. Support and participate in admissions related marketing events, activities and initiatives to drive student recruitment, retention and enrollment opportunities.
6. Work in a team to achieve student enrollment targets.
Operating Network
External: Prospective parents and students, business organization such as embassies, multinational companies, relocation agencies, etc.
Internal: Admissions Committee, school sections and operating units, parent community and students
Main Responsibilities
Embrace the school values, understand and communicate the various schools’ programs, key messages and WAB’s uniqueness to prospective families.
Learn and support school initiatives in pursuing teaching & learning innovation; and continue to communicate the development and transformation to wider community.
Explain the admissions process in an open and transparent manner to prospective families;
Serve as liaison to targeted community groups; to build and develop strong community relationships resulting in positive word of mouth promotion of WAB.
Plan in depth for each visit and organize relevant and informative campus tour,
inviting and meeting with key staff, parent and student ambassadors as appropriate;
Provide efficient support and timely follow up from admissions inquiry to enrollment process;
Coordinate admissions interview and/or placement test(s) as appropriate;
Collaborate with school section and related operation units (which includes not limited to School Legal Affairs, Finance, Student Services, Transportation, IT, Library, Health Clinic, WABX, Communications, ParentLink, etc.) to process students’ enrollment, and ensure that students experience a smooth start of school.
Record and maintain accurate family information in the online application system and the student information database, and update as required in timely manner;
Provide enrollment and pipeline statistics on assigned accounts to support admissions reporting.
Assist in organizing New Family Orientation events at the start of each new semester;
Support mid-semester induction and transition program;
Support admissions related marketing programs such as Open Houses, school community events and communications/marketing initiatives to recruit new students.
Represent WAB at networking events with local community.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS
The successful applicant is expected to have the following skills, abilities, knowledge and experience:
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a related field
Experience:
· At least 2 years working experience in education environment; or office administrations/customer relations/marketing field
· Experience working in an English speaking environment
· A sound understanding of a diverse international community and educational environment
Skills and abilities:
· Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive working relationships with parents, students, staff and different constituency groups in an intercultural context
· Outgoing, confident, affable and open-minded
· Capable of taking initiative in work, including the ability to think ahead and work flexibly without constant direction
· Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
· Good command in English; Chinese and a third language skills is desirable but not essential
· Flexible and willingness to both work and working hours; position would require school holidays responsibilities
· Positive and dynamic can-do attitude and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
· Highly organized and able to multi-task
· Capable to maintain confidentiality
· Computer literate especially in Word, Excel and Office 365
· Experience with data management systems
