Trustee (Media/Communications Specialist)
Anthony Nolan
Description
- Anthony Nolan is an amazing charity that is dedicated to saving the lives of those with blood cancer and disorders. They began in 1974 when Shirley Nolan set up the world’s first register to match donors with people in need of bone marrow transplants. This register now has over 875,000 potential donors. They also conduct research into stem cell matching, transplants and cell and gene therapy, provide essential patient information and services, and fundraise to support those in need. Their goal is to save and improve the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant, and they need your help to reach this goal.
What are we looking for?
We need all Anthony Nolan Trustees to be committed to and aligned with our values and objectives, and willing to devote the necessary time and effort to the role.
You will have strategic vision and the ability to contribute to decision-making conversations with integrity, and work effectively as part of a team.
To build on the breadth and depth of our current Board and to provide important succession planning, we are looking for Trustee candidates with particular skills, networks and expertise in Media, Communications and Public Relations. Your experience and connections will be invaluable in helping us to raise the profile of our lifesaving work and enable Anthony Nolan to influence and initiate crucial conversations around stem cell transplantation, blood cancer and alternative treatments.
We would love to hear from professionals with previous experience of being a Trustee/Non-Executive Director, however this is not a pre-requisite.
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
We are looking for Trustees with a variety of backgrounds, competencies, and life-experiences, who can bring diversity of thought to the Board, and ensure that we are representing all of our patients. We know that these qualities will not only support us to engage with more diverse audiences, but also encourage robust debate, and support our effectiveness, leadership, and decision-making ability to act in the best interests of the Charity and in the public interest.
