Description
- This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead (Main) Level Designer to join Limbic Entertainment and take on a pivotal role in the development of an unannounced Unreal Engine 5 project. You will lead the Level Design team in a day-to-day capacity and be responsible for creating, prototyping, iterating on and polishing in-game levels, mission scripting, and other gameplay elements. With your experience in professional game development, you will be a key spokesperson for the team, providing guidance and training to colleagues. Ultimately, you will be the owner of the overall quality of Level Design content.
- Responsibilities:
- • Review and feedback tasks of other Level Designers
- • Guide and mentor other Level Designers
- • Define and maintain project specific level creation pipelines
- • Define and maintain project specific level creation workflows
- • Conceptualize, prototype, build, decorate, script, and optimize levels for the game
- • Collaborate with team members to create interesting and engaging gameplay scenarios within the established game design guidelines
- • Contribute to workshops and brainstorming sessions to help define features and workflow
- Your profile
Requirements:
- • Excellent knowledge of Game/Level Design fundamentals: floorplans, player guidance, difficulty, balancing, pacing, interactivity, accessibility, etc.
- • At least six years of industry experience in a level design/level art capacity
- • Two or more published titles in a level design capacity incorporating the full production cycle
- • Experience in mentoring or leading Level Designers
- • Avid gamer with knowledge and understanding of various game genres and game types
- • Previous experience working on or playing strategy and city-builder games is a plus
- • Fluent in written and spoken English
- • EU citizenship or a valid working permit for Germany
- • Experience with Unreal Engine
